I had a nice collection of the Aurora models. My brother, myself, and some of our friends would sit together at picnic tables building them on Saturdays. We'd all get the new ones when they hit the hobby stores. Great link. Brought back memories.

Americans sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Oh Creature of the Black Lagoon was a show I watched all the time! It was my favorite. I even convinced my mother on year to allow me to be the Creature for Halloween. One year those costumes that were like a mask and cheap jumpsuit had the Creature and I begged and begged. She finally gave it which wasnt easy considering I was the lil girl who came along 10 years after two boys. She was hoping I would go for the princess costume but I was not having it! LOL Oh this page brought back great memories. THanks for posting.
Linus: You've heard about fury and a woman scorned?
Charlie Brown: Yes, I guess I have.
Linus: Well that is nothing compared to the fury of a woman who has been cheated out of tricks or treats!

Great page thanks for sharing. I have some of the monster figures and models, and my shining prize is the 3-3/4" monster set from Remco with the haunted house.

I have 4 of the monsters. I remember begging my parents to buy me one everytime we went to the store. Unfortunately I had lost my Creature and I never got around to the Mummy. I check ebay from time to time hoping to grab one at a reasonable price. I have a friend who has the whole set with the mansion/box. From time to time Ill ask if he wants to get rid of it. lol“Do you know the terror of he who falls asleep? For those of you who have seen the original (and best) Dawn of the Dead from 1978, and remember the scenes in the elevator, the elevator was located in what was then the toy section of J.C. Penney's at Monroeville Mall. I remember coming off that elevator many times, making a right, and walking down the "model wall" where all the model kits were displayed. At the end of the wall was a counter, and behind the counter (for reasons unknown to me) were all the Aurora monster kits. I used to have to ask a counter person to get me one! I bought two Creature and a Godzilla (all glow-in-the-dark part versions) kits from that Penney's store.
Immediately adjacent to the toy section was the pet section, and they used to have several aquariums that had the Creature From The Black Lagoon aquarium figures in them. I spent a lot of time watching those gillmen work in the tanks, and always wanted to get one but never did. Being as those items are selling for $300 or more these days, I sure wish I would have snagged some."Spit's all that's holding me together right now too!" James Whitmore, Them!
