I was noticing how there are licensed artists providing a yearly supply of holiday-related goods, and some artists with a following year round that offer seasonal art as a part of their annual portfolio.

Artists like Bethany Lowe, Mary Engelbriet, Jim Shore and others always do well at Christmas, so I thought I'd ask...

Do you have any favorite Halloween artists?

Do you follow the works of a particular artist for the holiday of Horror?

If not, do you just cruise the local holiday and decor shops for whatever they have for your cards, paper plates and napkins, wall art, ceramics, etc?

John Oless is a local artist whom I've had the pleasue of meeting several times. He does 2-3 original paintings a year and then sells prints. I have 6 of his prints that I hang in our home every Halloween season. They are beautifully colored and detailed and very affordable.

And even though he's not Halloween, per se', Edward Gorey is King in my book...

Honestly, I think that one of our own members, KillerPumpkins, is very good. As for Gothic art, Joseph Vargo (of the band Nox Arcana) is tops in my book.

I may pick that one up too this year! I actually talked with John two days ago. He has a kiosk at our big local mall and he had it on display. Very nice!

i dont have any favorite halloween artist. oh well.
