So a buddy of mine from my fraternity posted this to his girlfriend. it's a sad situation but this would be a great place to clean up and someone could make a killing off of this turning it into a Halloween park for the month of october. Would be pretty awesome and something we may not have ever seen. Would be like Fright Nights (Kennywood in Pittsburgh) but the entire park could be dedicated to haunted houses and haunted rides. Could sell snacks themed for Halloween and would just be a great fun time. Let me know what you would do and if you think we will ever see something like that.

Wow, those are some great pictures. Thanks so much for sharing.

It would definitely be great to use the area for a haunt. Or a movie set.

That's been posted on here a few times. If I recall, it closed before the hurricane for reasons other than the hurricane. Looks like it's been sitting so long that it's a lost cause. Rides have to be inspected and certified, and those would take a lot of money.

I know someone who went there. He took alot of pics and grabbed a couple souvineers. Guess there was alot of Halloween merchandise laying around the park when he went. Its scheduled to be demolished.

The story of SFNO is a very depressing one to be sure. It is full of stupidity and waist on the part of the city of New Orleans. The park will be demolished, but by the city not caring, not by a lack of those who knew and loved it trying to save it. There was even funding in place. It saddens me greatly to see a park that could have been restored by now (really in truth this park could be open and operating, they had the management team, they had the plan, they had the money) but instead it sits, decaying as another reminder of such a disastrous day past.

There was an episode of Sons of Guns this year where they supplied some props to a production company making a movie there.
