Last year about 2 months before halloween I was thinking, man I wish I had grown some pumpkins of my own.
This year I thought about it right at the perfect time. I saw a pack of pumpkin seeds at the store and it says now is the time to plant them (im in south florida)
I have heard from people that you cant grow pumpkins in florida (there are no farms that grow them down here) so I thought I would ask in here if anyone else grows their own and if they have any tips to give. I planted them about two weeks ago and they have some nice leaves and the vines are about 3 or 4 inches tall already.
I planted some of the normal Jack-O-Lantern pumpkins and also the Big Max ones that get huge.

I can't imagine that they would'nt grow at all down there, but in that warm of a climate you will probably have to water the poop out of them.hahaha, and may I say waaaa. we live in Oregon, they grow like mad, but it's wet and cold most of the year? good luck!
