As I have written in other posts and blog entries, My haunt is year round and in a barn in the woods next to my house. It has lighting but I haven't been in there since around Thanksgiving. Today I decided to sweep the halls of cobwebs and such. My husband opened the door to a room that we have decorated to look like Dracula's castle complete with faux stone walls, gothic arches and a coffin. And out flew REAL live BATS! I like them alot better than the mice, snakes and black widows we usually find. I soooo hope they stick around![]()

Wow, that would be a great touch to the haunt in October! We never get bats in our neck of the woods here in Socal..
A Halloween prop is a terrible thing to waste..

That's really cool. Bats are ~definitely better than mice - or chipmunks in our case! Not sure if they'll hang around (pun intended) once things get busy in your haunt, but that is a cool touch (like a "good luck" omen).
