I'm sure this question has already been asked and answered at some point, but I'm new here and didn't see it.

How early do you start your actual decorating? I like to start in September inside the house, but last year I was sick with the flu and didn't get started until October. I have decided that I will start the inside this year in August . I think we start the outside at the beginning of October.

Americans sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Well I have a few answers.

    1) Personal Home w/ Wife and Kids..... We always do it 2nd week in September.

    2) The rotting Flesh Radio Studios..... Always in development all year long

    3) My main office for other things...around Last Week of August.

Sadly, we don't live in all that great a neighborhood, so it's the day of.

Things might get stolen I guess so...yeah.

I put up a little bit at a time like a build up for halloween, then the night when halloween is over I take everything down late at night so my neighbors wake up to go to work and are suprised everything has dissapeared.

I start putting out fall-type stuff in September but I don't put the stuff for Halloween outside until Oct1 usually. It sucks but they already think I'm a lunatic. Plus the grass always has to be cut into September so I have to move everything. In the house, there's horror/spooky stuff out year-round but it gets amped up around Halloween. People who come into my house in October always say that they love my Halloween decorations and I'm like "what Halloween decorations? This stuff is out all year."

Bootoyoutoo only asks the question because she wants to start NOW! I do as well, but what we're looking for here is, when is it socially acceptable? As a side note, i already have webs 5 feet tall in my front yard. The webcaster guns work awesome!

I totally want a webcaster gun. I've had my eye on one for a long time now and just haven't actually made the purchase yet.

When is it socially acceptable to decorate for Halloween? Who cares! I don't think any of us would be here if we weren't certified Halloween nuts and most of our neighbors know it. Regardless, I think mid-September to October 1 are probably the earliest times that I'd consider it socially OK.
