do any of you celebrate Samhain?
I feel like I should because my heritage is Celtic on both sides going back over a hundred years. Irish on mom's side, Scottish on dad's. My last name is actually an ancient Scottish clan that has been traced to the year 900 AD. (interesting stuff) its my birthright to celebrate Celtic traditions. My dad also loves St. Patty's Day
What do you do for Samhain?

Would be pretty darn funny to build two little fires on either side of the sidewalk, put your cats on leashes and walk them between the fires LOL. Who knows, might cut down on vet bills.

No one should feel like they have to celebrate anything. Ever. If you want to celebrate, do it! Celebrate how you think and feel you should. Support traditions that make sense to you, but if they don't quite fit your life, tweak them until they do.

I have to agree with piraticalstyle, please don't feel obligated to celebrate Samhain just because of your ancestry.
I do celebrate it, along with Halloween. It's a personal choice, and I am still working on the practices I feel fit best with both the holiday and myself. Honestly, I feel that even having a bit of respect for the day tucked away in your mind can be enough. Recognition and respect can go along way, I think.

I celebrate Halloween, which is basically a whittled down, modernized version of Samhain.
