Thread: Help with Hospital/Asylum theme please

Hi, I need more ideas for a Hospital/Asylum theme. ( In a 2 car garage)
We've got a wheel chair, crutches, I.V. stand etc
I thought of having a narrow hallway as an entry, with false doors down one side, with noises/bangs coming from them. Also a small cell in a corner with bars on the window and a bed, meal tray etc, with an actor jumping out to scare.
Other ideas are Zombies, an Electric chair, and a mad scientist lab.

I would appreciate any new ideas or pics of others.

Just think of things that you would normally fear in a regular hospital. Rusty bladed equipment. A doc that has 'bad hygene' sharp teeth, possibly a canibal. Instrument noises, not necessarily loud but no one likes the sound of elctric drills/saws/cardiac monitor. Limbs are always overused.

A good idea I always wanted to try but never had the room is have a "bright room" where its bright white and bloody. The room next isn't really pitch black but very dark with lightly glowing eyes. That way as your eyes slowly adjust to the darkness the eyes begin to show. Not sure if that last paragraph helps though lol.

How about a hospital bed with restraining straps on it? You could have an actor appear to be restarined but "break" the restraint and jump out at the crowd.

I would love a hospital bed, but don't really have room. If I can pick one up cheap just before Halloween, I could get it and resell after maybe.
The endless hallway looks great Terra, I don't know if I could pull that off, but will definitely be using the scattered paper on the floor idea.

I just had another thought. Maybe get some x-rays off of the internet and print them on transparencies. Then make a light box to display them on like one of those x-ray viewing boxes.

A great Idea mate. Should be easy to find in our house too, my son has heaps of x-rays from about 11 broken bones and a knee reconstruction. (and he's only 18 !)

Will you have some kind of facade looking like an asylum or hospital?

I would have a nurse & a Doctor waiting to admit their next patient. The Doctor would have a long white lab coat & a clipboard with admission papers. The nurse dressed in her white uniform would be anxious to wheel the next patient in. Optional straight jacket laying in the wheel chair, & a tall orderly making sure there is no trouble.
