Hello everyone!
I was thinking last night and had a random moment of Hmmmmm-ness... Lol! A new word! But as I was saying, I remember I joined the HF way back in early 2006 on Friday the 13th. I was searching online for info on that great day and POW!!! there it was.... The Link to the HF!!!
I then clicked away and was amazed in what I found! My initial thoughts were: Wow! There are really other people like myself out here!!! So I'm truly not alone... What a great feeling of comfort and virtual Halloween togetherness! So ever since then I have came back and forth viewing thread topics silently for many years until I remembered my password in late 2008(Go figure..). So glad that I did as there were so many times that I wished to speak to others and just let the chance slip away...
Now I may be a bit of a chatterbox here at times but it is all in great thoughts and Halloween friendships new and old! Just wanted to say I am glad to be part of this great place and hope to hear a little from anyone else if ya don't mind sharing a little bit with us! Thanks for reading!![]()

I joined in 2010 about a month before halloween.
I was looking fro costumes for the family when I clicked a short link to the merchants section and didn't think much of this forum I had to go through. After browsing through Spirit Halloween store online I looked up costume ideas and it brought me to a thread within Halloweenforum.com and the gray/black colors looked familiar, which I still didn't think much of it. THEN I looked up halloween decorations (I forget the exact search) in google and the first page was covered in halloween forum threads. From there I was in and out of all the threads and was convinced, this will be my new hobby. And I love it! The people on this forum are great too!

When I got back into decorating big time again in 2007, I just did a search and found this amazing collection of halloween additics! That's a fairly common tale I would think. I bookmarked a ton of sites back then- retailers and all. Some have gone, a lot remain. Thankfully this one is here to stay!

Because Australia doesn't have a huge Halloween culture, I went searching the Net for ideas before Halloween 2010.
It was then I came across this gold mine of information.
This forum was the main reason my first Haunt was a success.
I thank everyone here and look forward to many years ahead.
Rick.

I think I started on the Halloween List & just started clicking links to stuff & I think I ended up finding a monster mud reaper on the list, or somewhere I really can't remember, so I googled info on monster mud & this forum was one of the links that came up & it was like the heavens parted & the angels started singing!!

Shoot, this is going to make me long-winded, but I tend to ramble on about Halloween Forum.

Back when the husband and I got engaged, we both agreed we didn't want a typical wedding day, and just as a lark the hub said "what about Halloween?" He didn't expect me to say yes, but I thought of how much we both loved it growing up, and we agreed it would be wonderful fun. So we had a fall/halloween-themed wedding, but it wasn't NEARLY Halloween enough and we started thinking about what we should have done. (kept the decor pretty restrained due to parental pressure to be more "traditional"
)
Fast forward to 2006, and we started REALLY decorating our house for Halloween. We decided that since it was our anniversary, we could do whatever type of decoration and dress up as crazy as we wanted...
We bought most of our decor, but I was disappointed in what was out there - either too expensive for the quality, or just not what I saw in my head. So I started playing around with building stuff. I thought I was all innovative and cool with my paper maché and cobbled together props.
We had a fantastic response from the neighborhood, so when August 2007 came around, I thought I'd look around on the web and see if anyone else had a clue about decorations for Halloween.
I stumbled into Halloween Forum from a web search. It totally blew me away - my gaster was completed flabbered.
I was humbled (and slightly embarrassed at my prop-building skills) compared to the stuff I found here, in awe and absolutely amazed at the shear number of ideas and creativity that members here have. I signed up, and for the most part I've never really wandered off. I have learned SO MUCH from this forum. Even if I'm never going to get to the level of skill of the artist/engineer/electronics wizards that are members here, I still love seeing what everyone comes up with.

I stumbled upon this place a few years ago by searching the internet. I've been decorating for Halloween since 1994. I believe that I've only missed 3 or 4 years since then. Dang college education got in the way!!! I've known about the HF for several years but I finally joined. So glad I did! This place and all the members are great! And Larry is the best admininstrator in the world for putting up with all of us

There are other holidays besides Halloween? When did they start that?

Well, I actually just joined about 2 weeks ago lol. Feels like it's been a lot longer though! I came across this wonder place while I was watching youtube videos. I cannot remember the name of the video I was watching, but I believe it was a guy (possibly had a beard) giving a tutorial on a prop he built. In the video he mentioned HF and here I am now!
I'm very happy I stummbled on that video that brought me here. I've always loved Halloween and although my friends and family like it, they just don't have nor do they understand the love and passion for this holiday. Kinda makes me sad I have no one local to share this passion with, but thank God I have all of you guys

Halloween night, 2009. Having my entire haunt destroyed by the weather, feeling so frustrated that nothing went much right (we still had more than 400 kids). After 9:00pm, Evertyhing was trown in the garage, Halloween officially over until next year, I swear to myself I would find a way to make 2010 much better, I went on the internet to drink my sorrows away (L). I felt so dissapointed that Halloween was gone and all that work was for over until next year, I found this site almost immediately. Wow! Been hook ever since! It's truly my favorite site I have, I check it multiple times per day, every day. Why? The people, the props, everything just click with me here.

I found HF when searching the web for How-To's and such...
When I found this place, I was amazed that I was not alone! The people here are amazing and this is truly a great community for people who love Halloween, Haunters, costumers, and home decorators.
