i guess i just needed to come to where others would understand my pain....my basement flooded. i've lived here for 11 years and never had a drop of water in my basement. i went down one night and turned the sump pump on just in case. bone dry that night. heard some people talking at the local bar about all the water they got a couple nights afterwards so i went home and checked. my sump pump was not working, i had over six inches of water down there where all of my inside halloween decorations are at. everything was in tubs, but there was so much water that the water dumped all of my tubs over. i just can't deal with it right now, i think it's all ruined. i tried getting stuff out and drying it out, but i've got around 20 totes down there and i don't have anywhere upstairs to put it, got frustrated and depressed and gave up. i think i'm going to have to just junk it all. anyway, just needed to vent, thanks

Don't dump anything yet! For electronics, I heard to simply let it all dry out, and they still might work! Maybe it's not all loss!

So sorry to hear about the flooding. Try to keep your chin up.
As I was going up the stair, I saw a man that wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today...Oh how I wish he'd go away.

Can you make room? –

By hanging the tubs from your basement ceiling?
Steel cable, cable clamps, drill through a beam, run the cable through, drill boards for shelving , run the cable through them, put clamps on the under-side of the boards with a washer....
Less than 1 /4 inch steel cable is very strong and pretty cheap, quick to do."My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

I am so sorry! I can imagine how frustrated and disappointed you are right now. Don't give up! If the items are not electronic or battery operated they are just wet and will be fine when they dry. If you have a nice day put them outside to dry, they will dry faster.

Yikes! Im so sorry to hear that!
I know its overwhelming but try to air what you can out asap. Youll want to as soon as possible so prevent mold or irreparable damage.
Theres some nice cleaning agents for staining and you can fabreeze most of any odors from the pipe water. Get some of those cheap plastic drop cloths from the dollar store and place what you can out on those with fans on the whole thing.
I had to do something similar when a leak in my shed dropped about a gallon of water into a cardboard box of halloween stuff.
Since space is limited, try doing a box at a time. Sorry again!

So sorry! What a blow! If you can, maybe just lay it all outside and see what happens after a few days. If you have room and all.
Just be careful of black mold.
I am so so sorry.
