    I have a few stories...

When I teached (for 8 years) kids and teens cartooning/animation, I always did one Halloween theme class/day, and they loved it.

But once, I got one precious snowflake that started to freak out at the minute I started teaching how to draw haunted house, ghost, pumkins and werewolves.

I asked him what was wrong and he explained that his parents didn't allow him to draw anything scary and if he did, it might scar him for life. I was shock... All the other kids started to laught, and make fun of him. Of course, I didn't let him ruins everyone's else fun and simply put his desk out in the hallway, while the rest of the kids continued making fun of him. When the parents came to pick the kids up, everyone was pumped up about the class. His parents, simply rolled their eyes at everyone and took the boy home, for therapy, probebly.

Last year (2010), on Halloween night, after everyone was gone, around 9:30pm, we started to take everything down. we see this van stopping in front of the haunt, and we see this er.... I'll say "HUGE" (don't want to offend anyone here) 13 old teenager, not kidding, at least 250 pounds easily, with his mother. They both waddle into the maze, wich everything already almost remove, they ask if any of the candy is left. We nodded a bit, still shock at the imprints they were leaving in my concrete driveway. Then the teen say's "I am so glad you remove all the scary things, I get scared very easily!"

Then the mother say's "Oh yes he does, my precious get's so scared about anything! That is why we can only drive during daylight or very late, when all the scary things are put away.".

I simply remainded quiet and gave him some candy and they went back in the van slowly. Me and my wife, we just burst out laughing hard after they left.
"That was the biggest precious snowflake EVER!" we both laughed out.

Please, parents, don't let your kids become like that, the world is a scary place, but we all have to face it sometimes...

The Big Boned Teen reminds me of Cartman from South Park. The first one reminds me of a time when I painted store windows for Halloween & Christmas. I did this white screaming face with orange hair maybe 4 - 5' tall & the mom refused to come into the store untill it was taken down. Other customers didn't want it down. The owner was cool about it but ,It still came down. If anything all the parent is doing is instilling in the kid that this stuff is real. I mean we know it's real, but thier not supposed to know that. It's Crazy

One year I had a walk-through display in the backyard. Parents would take they're kids through and stop half way because it got too scary. The parents wanted to see it but their kids wouldn't budge, and held up the line.

As for spoiled brats, there was one boy that kept pointing to a small rubber spider and wouldn't leave because he wanted it. When his mother told him no he started to cry. She then picket it up and asked me if he could have it. I noticed one of the legs was missing; and seeing as he was the only one left and I wanted to close up for the night, I reluctantly said yes. I was really tired and I just wanted them to leave. It wasn't until later that I remembered that particular spider was the first Halloween prop I ever got when I was just a little kid. I even remember that it was my cat that chewed the leg off. I've regretted it ever since.

I've had parents walk their smaller children right past the house without even attempting to have them step into the yard, though I've experienced nothing to the extent of the previous stories.

I had one parent go past my house on Halloween telling the child that was pulling on her arm to come to my front door "we arent going to that house, its weird". Keep in mind I have a very toned down haunt with no gore. Pumpkins, Haybales, Colorful Mums, and some standee Pumpkinmen. Unreal....

Sounds like a future serial killer that'll come back to take revenge on everyone that laughed at him....and that's understandable

Can't blame Halloween for this pair as the parents of these brothers didn't seem to have an issue with Halloween. Came to the annual Halloween party every year they were invited and even went to some haunted house with my son a couple of times. However the parents did have a problem with the cartoons all the kids at that time watched. This pair wasn't allowed to watch Thundercats, He-man or any of those "violent" ridden shows and had to be in bed before 8 so as not to see any of those nasty network shows.

Take a stab at who were a couple of the BIGGEST bullies in school. Worst part of it all was dad worked for the school district and until cameras were installed in the buses no one wanted to believe these angels were as bad as other were suggesting.

Last year I was with my mother in Kmart and saw a little boy with his grandparents. I heard the boy excitably tell them it was his favorite holiday "better than Christmas and Easter." His grandfather them pulled the boy to the side and told him: "Jesus doesn't like Halloween." My mother and I were in shock.
