I've had to down-size my big Toy-Give-Away at Halloween. Unless I win the next Powerball, there won't be any large carnival plush animals, remote control cars, or scary themed board games for my TOTers.

But while I can't afford big treats for every kid, I was thinking of having maybe 4 or 5 really nice treats for a lucky few. In essence... a TOT lottery. The trick would be to have the prizes timed out throughout the night and devise some quick and easy method of chance.

I have used Plinko, spin wheels, and fish... (actually spider)... ponds before to give out toys... but I need some idea now that will result in a 1:30 ratio instead of my previous 1:6.

    Ideas?

Wow, we give out DVD's to our winners (1:5) and we thought that was cool! You might wanna try a game that we do - "Toss Your Cookies". Basically, the TOT's drop a cookie onto a grid pattern and win either a bag chips, a full-size candy bar or their choice of a DVD. "Ghost" is always popular, and we always stock up on Halloween related and Horror films and TV Specials. Your grid could feature a "Mystery Prize" dead center on the board and, at strategic times, a Monster Prize could be awarded.

Does "at strategic times" mean that only TOTs arriving in a certain window of time have a shot at the Monster prize? I'd like every kid to have a shot at winning- but the odds have to be a little steeper than my previous methods.

I was thinking of maybe a card deck draw? A TAROT card draw (flip)? Guess I'd have to remove the Death card, eh? Oooooh... I could do a whole gypsy fortune teller theme!

I Love the DVD idea. The Dollar stores and Big Lots have old scary movies sometimes.

What do you guys think of a big ol' Halloween Gift basket? I could put in a DVD, giant candy bars, and... ??????
