Was just browsing online for a fake knife for a prop, and came across this article
"Following a resident's complaints and objections by Ms Jowell, the 12in replica hunting knife sold as a "Bleeding Dagger" Halloween toy was taken off the shelves of three 99p Stores in Lambeth over concerns it could fuel violent crime"
It's.............. a................. PLASTIC KNIFE!! A cheap plastic knife! Get over it, so what if kids/kids at heart want a bit of fun for halloween!![]()
Sad pathetic individuals always try to ruin the fun!

To remove all toy guns from store shelves. Guess what little boys do then?
They pick up a stick, point it and say, "Bang-Bang! You're DEAD!"
I believe it is very difficult to remove such a loud, powerfull icon of modern life as the gun.
How many 1,000's of guns have we all seen in tv, movies from just say, birth to 18 yrs.?
I have just wished that a much more Realistic portrayal of what a gun actually does to the human body and the grieving un-shot family members, friends, co-workers was better illustrated every time.
Too many times getting "Shot" in tv/movies is a quick, clean, no blood, no screams, no suffering solution for the 100% correct and good "Hero" to have chosen. Real life doesn't quite ever happen this way, way too loud, messy, expensive in every way."My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

I certainly agree with both of you. People really need to chill out. Children will find ways to emulate weapons with whatever is handy, like Gym said; it's not like taking things off the shelves will deter them. All the morons are doing is making it more difficult for adults to get Halloween props and, I'd assume, irking many in the process

Every couple of months, I used to pop into my local magic supply store for Halloween needs, magic tricks, and overall inspiration. Sadly they since closed.
Anyway...I walked in one day and was surprised to see that an entire floor-to-ceiling shelf dedicated to prop weapons (most of which looked ridiculously fake anyway) was gutted and completely empty. I asked the store owner about it, and he had informed me that a overprotective mother walked into the store and threatened to sue them for selling weapons to a minor (her 12 or 13 year old boy)...My only thought, when I heard this; "Are you f'ing kidding me!?" It's cheap plastic-molded props painted so severely off-color, that any idiot could tell they aren't real!
As it turns out, the real reason why the mom threatened to sue was because her son had brought a joke retractable knife to school...and was temporarily expelled for doing so.
So naturally, mom passes the blame on the magic shop instead of her sweet and innocent son. Should the boy have been expelled, I don't think so, but passing the blame on to the place where the kid bought the toy, isn't right!
Sad, but true...it only takes one IDIOT to ruin the fun for everyone, the store survived for a couple more years unaffected by the removal.

How can a fake knife make someone want to use a real one? The fake one is actually standing in the way of someone using a real one.
