We all have bad days. Sometimes things don't go as planned! Mine was the fact that I couldn't go to the Transworld event even though I had a place to stay for free that was within a block or two from the place. Reason? Work had its Goodwill event starting at the same time.
So what was your worse Halloween and why? Was any of your decorations part of the problem? Was it the kids or the adults that gave you problems? Was Mother Nature being a real evil jerk to your displays?

But it's predictable like that.
For me, 1995-1998. Years of desolation, those. Tried to hold some parties to no avail, no trick or treaters, nothin'. Then I gave up and helped build a professional haunt, then it got condemned (the building), then a couple years working for a local attraction, then we moved into our current house in 2004.

Um... maybe two years ago? First the hubby got swine flu a week before, then I got a major ear infection that I thought ruptured my eardrum, and still had my Halloween party feeling horrible and deaf in one ear, then Halloween night I got the flu and was running a high fever and chills and had to go in (and was so worried that I'd get some of the TOTs sick after I realized I was sick). Yeah, that year sucked.

Last year wasn't so hot. I fell across a string of lights on to a big rock in our landscaping & really banged my left shin up. Took me outta the game for all the TOTers & didn't put up as much as I wanted to.
The doc said I probably had a hairline fracture & the only thing to do with that is time & Aleve. It still hurts on occasion if my foot stretches in the wrong direction for too long.Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, the best damn little band you should be listening to!

Last year. It was the first Halloween after my Dad passed and I ended up working because the local municipality scheduled TOT 4 days BEFORE Halloween.

Wow! First, I want to say that you all have some sad stories, and I'm hoping that your Halloween experiences get better each year from here on.
My worst one isn't really sad.
I admire all of you that put together amazing haunts and parties, and I attend many. I also attend many haunted attractions. Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons (I work round the clock during Halloween season, live in the "boonies," etc.), I am unable to do my own haunt.
My worst Halloween involved a visit to a haunted trail attraction that shall remain nameless. My entire family (parents, siblings, etc.) and some friends went. The problem was that the tour through the trail started with all of us crawling into what we thought was a shag-carpeted room but turned out to be the back of a van that took off so fast that some of us were thrown and injured. Then we had to hold onto a rope throughout the remainder of the tour through the dark rocky hillside trails late at night, and we were being led by a drunk tour guide. He kept stopping at every scene along the way to drink some of the stuff he had stashed at each location. And as he was dragging us along the rocky trails, he would jerk on the rope, causing some of us to trip on the large rocks in our way and actually fall on the rocky trails. We couldn't see the large rocks in our path because it was pitch black. He had a tiny flashlight where he was up in front, but he was oblivious to us. It was awful, and we never went back. Definitely not worth the money.
