Let me start by saying, i have an incredably gifted friend who shoots pin up photography.
Her name is Dana Brushette, and i just love her work. Over the years, I've built many a prop/set and costume for her shoots and in turn she's taken some wonderful pictures for me.
Here's a link to her page.

Last year I entered an online bicycle building contest which i gave a horror theme.
We had a fantastic time shootin between rain clouds, and the pic's turned out great!
This shoot spawned an idea thats been a year in the making.
With a promised review in rue morgue magazine, Dana and i have decided to shoot a 2012 horror pin up calendar.
The plan, to build /shoot 3 sets per month, march till june giving lots of time for printing sales etc.
I'm pleased to say the first set is under way.
Now I've come to admire you good folks here on the halloween forum. Truely a gifted group.
I thought you might like to see a behind the scene look at this process, The magic of this type of photography and the lengths that are taken to get those great pic's. And hey, if i generate some interest in the calendar, well that's not a bad thing either. lol
Not only that, but i'd love to pick your brains, get creative idea's constructive feedback etc. I mean you guys are true horror buff's!
so with that, heres the first set i'm working on for a burried alive shot.
We're starting with the simple ones to get the ball rolling, but its only going to get better from here.
I would love for you folks to follow our journey through this little project.
Roll calls have gone out for models, we're running a couple online contests to win one of 4 open spots in the calendar, and it proves to be a lot of fun.
With that being said, opinions on the first prop?
Now ya gotta think red head, bright lipstick, and a bang'n body. the rest of the shot black and white.
(btw, the caskette isn't finished, its just pieced together for the shot)

dirrectly above are 2 phillips black lights (4 foot 40watts) in a standard 4' double flouresent fixture. (its actually my arcade lighting.
When it comes to blackling they are my only choice.
They seem to blow most of those all in one blacklight fixture packages right out of the water. (a lot of them being only 20 watts)

Buried alive, wow!
>How will you shoot the underground scene? Will the casket be surrounded by dirt?
>Maybe some fellow "undead" hands could be digging through the dirt towards the model? And/or underground rodent tunnels crossing back and forth.
>Will the model be clawing her way out?
>Is there a title that will show up on the image? The title could read " I'm going to get back at you for this #$%&@!
Looks like a lot of fun actually.

For your amusement, picture this.
All black , with a glowing white coffin situated 2/3's down the page.
The burried will be left up to your imagenation, but we will get the point across.
Lots o black, lots o white and a whole lotta red!
It's gotta be sexy and its gotta scream pin up!

Looks fantastic. Looking forward to following the progress!!
As I was going up the stair, I saw a man that wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today...Oh how I wish he'd go away.

I'm digging the modern pin-up stuff your friend does. Especially the one with the model Jessica La Blanche on the ladder. Oh mah Gawd.. I would've posted the picture here but I'm not sure everyone would appreciate it/the mods might not like it. So I won't :P But if you go to the link she gives above and go to the modern pin-up album - you'll see what I mean.
