Thread: Are they Jealous of my set up??

Has anyone ever had a problem with a neighbour or on a forum(not here) with that person making comments about your props and decorating. Leaving you to believe that they are totally jealous of your set up? I myself have had this happen to me on another site where at first I had let the comments go over my head, but then this past Halloween I told them off in a nice way and they never came back to the forum. Anyone have this happen to them?

I never had that happen, but I would have left the forum also. I would never criticize a haunt, never. Even if i didn't personally like it, I appreciate the Halloween spirit in any form.
I don't get jealous of a great haunt- I get excited and love on it! Like Pumpkinrot, awesome Love Manor,Aranamuerata, Vile Things, etc. We need to encourage each other!

I am with you. This member got peed off b/c we has a few of his props?? I mean come on i'm sure we all here have some of the same things and don't even know it!! But this guy is the type he likes to brag about his stuff and wants to be # 1 so if you have a better set up then he does or you happen to have some of his props he attacks you. After his last post to me Oct 2010 he just said Oh,I'm just giving you a hard time !" Can you believe the Nerve!! My hubby found this wise A** on another forum playing his attention getting ways again. I just told him not to say anything. The members there will soon find out what this jerk is all about!

Umm, I hate to break it to him, but if a Halloween prop is sold online and in stores...gasp! it is not the only freakin one in the world.
If he wants one of a kind props he needs to make them.
And after he posts those photos online, if his props are good, someone somewhere will copy them. If they are nice people they will give him credit.
I would ignore that guy, really. He is making a big deal and harrassing you and other people for nonsense.
I would not let some jacka** ruin my Halloween fun, ever! Ignore him!
Oh, and make a tombstone with his name (real or avatar) and put in in your cemetery!

Well I got to tell you everyone here is great and fun spirited. You should have a great time and I am sure you already have discovered that. I am sorry that happened to you but with online communities sometimes thats just the stuff you have to let slide off of you and absorb all the positive interactions.

thats part of posting , if you dont want oppinions dont post your stuff, I try and give an honest oppinion of things and somtimes it may be harsh or creative critisism, Is that not what you want when you post things for others? People are of all types on forums professionals to amature so you may get the super egos saying "i would have done this and theen you have the less egos that say OMG thats Insane... Does this poster have the copyrights, or patents to his props ...sorry but if your posting somthing for others to see sombody will copy it and make it their own. If you dont want others to copy your work dont post it . So if this wise a$$
has a comments that are rude then complain to the forum providers that his comments are not following the rules of the forum, otherwise if he is doing nothing wrong acording to the forum rules, blow him off and tell him to suck it up princess he doesnt have any thing to prove he made his "props first and probably stole the idea from someone else anyway

There's nothing wrong with being jealous of someone else's props...there's a few folks here who's creativity amazes me. Although, jealousy here is usually expressed in very complimentary terms. I find that this forum is a very rah-rah place, however, if I was to put up a pic of something and asked for opinions, and someone criticized it, then I shouldn't get upset.

Without seeing the comments the jack@ss made, the point you're trying to make is one sided and it seems like you're trying to get attention by being a victim.

Yeah I call this prop envy, and I have been chronically suffering from this condition since joining this forum, I love it.....so much talent truly wonderful!!!
