This is one of those " does anyone else" threads. I have been thinking ever since the great haunt of 2010 that 2011 may not be as wonderful as last year. I mean does anyone else feel a bit let down that Halloween will fall on a Monday this year? Just something to bring down your high a little. Or does it make you feel like going all out to prove you can beat the odds and entice even larger crowds than last year?

I've had the same thought. Parties, commercial Haunted Houses, the obligatory "Hallowe'en Specials" on the tube and God knows what else, may have a deflation factor on the Big Night itself. Plus, we're going head-to-head against Monday Night Football. But that won't deter dedicated Haunters like us!

I rock it no matter what day it is. I start having fun with it weeks before so its all good. I guess we kinda stretch Halloween out over the entire month. The actual night sometimes bums me out since its almost over.

    Hey buddy!
I actually think that it will be greater than the recent years past! Whenever it falls on a weekend I think more parents go out to parties or public venues rather than stay in the neighborhood and Trick or Treat. I have about 30% more TOTs when it falls during the week vs the weekend. But that is my personal residential area during Halloween nights. It will still be great either way! Stayin positive!

P.S. Thanks for the help/advice on my other thread!

I agree! When it was on a Saturday, I bought soooo many candy bars thinking I'd be overwhelmed with kids and.....did way less than usual. On a Monday night I think we'll be packed with TOT's....I mean what else are they going to do???? Homework??? LOL

Keep the spirit alive - it's a month long event anyway for us - the Manor goes up October 1st no matter what! Enjoy it for yourself and whoever comes, comes.. :-)

Seem to consider what day is next following their night "out". When we have a Monday holiday, Sunday automatically becomes another Saturday! = Nice!$$.
But then we are open year-round.

Weekdays usually have better turnouts. Don't let your guard down! Kids get home from school and they are BUSTING to get going. And if you wow'd them last year, you can bet if they go to no other house, it'll be yours. The pressure really is- topping what you did last year. It's all I've been thinking about. I created quite a buzz for this years display while everyone was tot'ing last year, in an effort to get them back in bigger numbers. I even included a note in the tot bags about the display growing this year and not to miss out.

The best thing about weekdays is that you know you have all morning up untill around 4pm with no one coming- they're all in school. Pest-free setup time. Weekends, you never know WHO'S gonna pop in early.

Don't let your guard down. You've been warned. Buuuuwaaaaaaa!
