It looks like one of those 'too-good-to-be-true' deals. then again, for that price, it might be a cool effect. I am thinking about using it in a Peppers ghost effect.

I bought this about a year ago after several failed attempts to get a decent projector on eBay. It works in complete darkness, but any ambiant light at all will wash out the video. I wasn't happy with it, returned it. Tried again on eBay and got a very nice projector for just a few bucks more. Unless the room you use this in is completely black, it's not worth it. My opinion, YMMV.

Thanks. I did end up ordering one since the price was only for that day.
I currently use the old trick of (in a dark room) attaching a cardboard box with the bottom cut out and replaced with one of those plastic page-magnifiers to the front of a TV set... and then aiming the image at white plastic stretched across a window to make a 'ghost projector.' So I'm guessing that no matter how bad the projector- it probably works better than THAT! lol Although, I do have to admit that I really like the soft glow-y image that is created by that method.
I don't want to use the projector as a direct viewing source. I am hoping to figure out how to incorporate a projected image into some reflection gags.
Whatever it is, it'll be too costly to return now... so I guess I'll just have to do my best. Thanks again for the response.

I went through two of these before deciding to just bite the bullet and purchase a true mini projector. The problem with this unit is it's more or less a toy.
A toy first, a projector second. I don't want to get your hopes up...because your projector might turn out to be working on all cylinders!
I had problems with the ones I tried (flickering light, blury image, inconsistent lighting, etc)
If you do get it, there are a few tips that can make for a better image.
* Create a pinhole camera lens to increase contrast and sharpness.
* Improve contrast, color, brightness, sharpness by running it through a DVD player that
has a menu for picture settings. Adjust dvd player settings while looking at projected image.

Thanks.
How do I make a pinhole camera lens?
I plan to use Scream TV DVDs and the original old VHS tapes that came with the "Ghost Projector." For the latter, fuzzy will do just fine.

Just puncture a small piece of aluminum foil with a large sewing needle, and attach the foil to the projector. The pin-holed foil should be wrap around the projector's lens with the tiny hole placed directly at the center of the projector's lens.
