Do you get the same thrills for shopping for Christmas and Halloween decorations?

I just been to stores that have 50% to 75% stuff on Christmas decos, I look and everything is MEH... no thrill, everything look blah and the same to me. Nothing interest me much.

We did get some stuff this year, but I find very bland this year fro Christmas decorations. I find the stores this year very bleak when for seasonal decorations, Christmas and Halloween.

When Halloween decos is 50% to 75% stuff, I get a thrill of the hunt of finding some goodies. Christmas, not so much.

For Christmas, we are well stock that we only use about 50% of the stuff most of the time that we decorate. We rotate each year colors, making it different each year.

Obviously, I love Hallloween more than Christmas, but I find it surprising how I much I don't get excited into decorations for Christmas in the last few years.

    What do you think?

I have two little ones so Christmas is a big deal for them, I get a thrill seeing their excitement. BUT I don't even get half the enjoyment out of it as I do Halloween.

yep, the thrill is the same if I get a good deal on what I'm looking for. Other than the weather being a lot colder, I enjoy decorating for Christmas just as much as Halloween. All that gift giving crap is what ruins Christmas for me

I don't really shop for Halloween, as I prefer to make everything myself, typically.

So, strictly from a thrill of shopping perspective, Christmas wins, hands down. This will be an especially exciting year for the After Christmas sales, as our Christmas decor was ALL lost in the shed incident that took out some of my Halloween stuff earlier in the year.

We've only put out a couple strings of lights, and some reindeer I had bought to gut for Halloween decor. Hope to get some stuff for next year the day after Christmas.

I really don't get into Christmas decorations much, so Halloween undoubtedly wins.

I love both decorating for seasons, my preference is shopping for Halloween stuff, I say stuff because we buy and make a lot of our own things. I have as much fun shopping at a hardware store during the planning phase as I do at the Halloween shop looking at cool props. At our house outside is Halloween, inside is all about Christmas; the kids love decorating for both seasons....but in our climate (Edmonton) the kids definitely prefer our "inside" Christmas house.

I have fun with both but I do find my mind wandering looking at yard art or shelf decor and thinking of how a little paint and embelishments could make it an awesome halloween decoration lol...

I tried to get into decorating the yard for Christmas this year but, I felt the same as you, osenator... meh.. So, I started making a Jack Skellington. I'm hoping to be able to use him for both holidays. I also have plans for Zero.. All the normal Christmas decor bores me.. I figure I can start with the Nightmare Before Christmas and then maybe do a dark "Scrooge" display for Christmas next year. We'll see!!
Forgot to actually comment on the topic.. lol I get WAY more excited about shopping for Halloween stuff.. whether it's decorations or building supplies..
