For me it is during the Christmas season. Not one sign of Halloween anywhere. Even die hard lovers of Halloween aren't talking about it. There aren't even any good scary movies on!! This is the "darkest time". But, January 1st. I start planning for next year. What about you?

When does Halloween seem the furthest away to you? –

For me its the morning after. Even though everything is still up I need to then start to put all my loved Halloween decorations away until the next Halloween. Part of my love with my decorations is the intense anticipation that comes with their being up, knowing the big day is coming. Just knowing I have a full 365 days until the next Halloween makes me really kinda sad.
As I was going up the stair, I saw a man that wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today...Oh how I wish he'd go away.

For me it is at 8 o'clock Halloween night, realizing that it is offically over by the township cause trick or treat hours are 6 to 8. I always answer the door till 9 but there are not that many kids at that time. The satisfaction of the night's fun is bittersweet with the let down knowing I have to wait a whole year.....not to mention the dreaded countdown clock of it dwindling down to a few days before Halloween cause it reminds me of how much I have left to do and so little time and with it being 365 days away knowing I have to wait what feels like forever.

For me its also Christmas-time. Its tough to keep pushing on horror themed stuff when everyone is wearing puffy sweaters and sipping eggnoq. Taking too long of a break in an area of interest usually results in it fading out somewhat...for me anyway. I just kind of push through this period, trying to enjoy the current holiday and still have some evil inside...so to speak..lol. Its a very strange time for me.

The morning after. I hate to walk outside and see all my decorations up and know that I have to take them down and return to my normal, boring yard. It seems like it's twice as far away for me cause Halloween is my birthday too, so it's that much worse.

Right about now with 40 mile an hour wind gusts and a 2 foot deep snowdrift at my front door. What is killing me the most is that across the street is a semi load of 2" blue foam that will eventually end up in the dumpsters and the boss said I can have it all and I can't get at it with this horrible weather

This is probably what Deadna looks like staring at the foam across the street:

I'm with you shadowsofhorror, it's this time right now. Kind of quiet on the forum too. But, come January!...

A few weeks after Halloween, still trying to find anything in stores on sales.
Still hoping to find some great items on discount. (I did get some excellent after Halloween deals this year, I must say!). I think it's the hunt is very exciting too. Getting a sweet deal, makes the endorphine shoot up in the brain! (L)
In durinjg Christmas time, at least I can find stuff I can use for later, like lights, plugs, spot lights on special. Bought some great spot lights (will hopefully get more on special this year).
I still sometimes look at craiglist, and other sites, just to see. But I must confess, I am somehow very content with my collection now. It's big enouth to be something "WOW" to most people now. I felt until last year I was still in the minor leagues when it comes to being a haunter, now, I truly feel I can call myself a "professional" haunter, being on multiple TV channels and newspapers in the last 2 years. My collection swelled easily 200% in the last 2 years. I reallly officially ran out of room!

Halloween-Never "Far" away, but it IS! –

We live in our haunted house. 2degrees outside, guess what? Nobody is going to darken my doorway!
The roads are packed snow and ice. My Wife knows I get despondant when it all becomes like this. Bad weather = No patrons to have fun with.
OK, I'm really spoiled, aren't I?
Can't help it because it is So much Fun entertaining people here and taking them through the house.
Every fall people will ask if we will be open Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years?
Then the weather turns winter and I really don't want anyone risking their life to drive here since we are open almost every night of the rest of the year.
We have no spare beds here if they become stranded..at least none they would , or could relax in..very long........scary bed.......and they would be alone in it.
