    http://www.freecycle.org/

A friend of mine informed me of this site and it is a terrific one.

If you build props out of certain products people use everyday, you simply list that object as 'wanted' and sometimes people will save them for you.

As an example, I make lights out of mason jars and people save them and let you know when you can stop and pick them up. People will just leave the stuff on the porch for you.

Anyway, figured it was a good idea and wanted to share.

We have a local freecycle group. last summer a lady was giving away a flamelight and a Halloween spell book (hollow inside to hold candy, and when you open it a witches voice says one of several different Halloween messages).
"Waiter, there's a hair in my soylent green!"

I sometimes use the site to give away all the odd plastic containers that accumulate over time. I actually use it to pass along more stuff than to get stuff. It's a good way to keep things that should still have a use for somebody out of landfills.

Nice link! I too have used CL freebies to get rid of items that I do not use nor need anymore. I actually found some free interior home doors(7 total) that I was using for a haunted hotel theme. Thanks for sharing the link though!
A Halloween prop is a terrible thing to waste..

Yes, Freecycle is great. Love their 'swap' meets - like a rumage sale, only better 'cuz there's no cash involved! Easy way to get rid of stuff.

Have never used it. Unfortunately I tend to accumulate stuff without getting rid of anything. But I couldn't resist joining. Thanks for the link.
