I am thinking about trying to use it as a theme next year. Make a gingerbread house, have a a lollipop fence and a cauldron right in the center of the yard with children's legs/feet coming out of it.

I have thought of the same theme but never done anything with it. It would be interesting.
Also I remember seeing someone who did a fairytale theme with different displays and I think there was a Hansel and Gretel theme there.

That is a great idea. I remember going through a haunt many many years ago where they had that theme in one of the rooms. There was a candy covered kitchen with a large cage. Inside the cage were 2 skeleton children holding onto the bars. A witch would jump out and ask you to enter her oven to get some fresh baked cookies.

i did this theme last year. and beggers is right, someone did a fairytale theme with h & g in it this year. someone else was doing this theme this year too, but i can't right off hand remember who. if you click on my signature below you will go into my photobucket, then to the right on the page click on the blue area that says spellbound, that will bring up the pictures of hansel and gretel. for mine, i had a crashed witch posed like she had been shoved into a fireplace. i also had a string of some big light up skeletons, i drew big ginger bread cookies around them, then cut out the centers the size and shape of the skelys, and inserted the skelys in the middle of the cookies

I plan on putting a h and g faucade on the front of my witch hut for the theme this year. I'm collecting the candy cands now and still looking for suckers for the front. Then when they walk through the front of it they will find the witches hut with all the scarey stuff inside. At least that is what the plan is.
