I was wondering if anyone can suggest a good storm/lightening machine I can buy for next Halloween? I have battery operated strobe lights but they are not that powerful to give off a great effect! Any info would be great! Thanks![]()

You might have to upgrade to electric strobes. They make some powerful pro ones for film and theatrical use. Pricey- but a great effect.
Here is a VERY nice light for home haunters:

For the thunder, IMO, a big ol' thin metal sheet suspended and shaken has never been beat!

I gotta say, the cheap christmas box talked about in this thread is an effective one-
LTD Lightning Effects Box $9.95
I use it with commonly used 100 watt white outdoor spots and a thunder storm track. It's an easy and cheap solution and it's plenty effective too. It's not an elaborate stereo box with great lights, but it still creates a convincing effect. I had my reservations about how it would work, but I picked one up and I'm very pleased- and without spending the rent too. Watch for them to restock.
