This year we had our first injury.
We were hanging out in the haunt on the 30th after people had stopped coming through. Suddenly, someone screamed from the street "HELP!" I was the first person outside. Two tweens wre standing around a 17-18 year old guy lying on the ground, with a huge gash in his chin. His bike was lying in the road. Apparently the kids (who he didn't know) had cut him off and they had crashed into each other. I'm guessing they were distracted by the haunt.
We gave him some water and paper towells, and sent the younger kids back to get his parents. His mom came running down the street. Thankfully, she wasn't angry at anyone, and neither was dad who drove in about a minute later. In fact, they were thanking us for our quick action. We loaded him into the car, and they haeded for the hospital.
I saw him the next day, and he told me he had gotten seven stitches...
The point is this:
THANK GOD we still have people in America who don't sue for anything and everything; my main consern was getting shut down for Halloween (After all, he crashed in front of OUR house and that MUST mean that the haunted house is DANGEROUS).

Well hopefully that's the end of it. But here you have a couple of years to decide to file a suit. Although I doubt they will. Even if they did I think they would have a tough time winning. But it would still be a hassle

Always something to worry about......Good luckSo many ideas....Too little storage space

Was a large skeleton (upper half only) leaning out from the upstairs window. His arms and hands were holding open the wooden shutters I had made.
I happened to notice several cars , driving slowly then turning left half a block away sending them down a one-way street the wrong way!
In a village of 2,000 people we only had 2 one-way streets, each just one block long so there were no wrecks or fatalitys....but you never know?
One quiet Sunday I decided to improve the city parking lot next to my house by shoveling the loose gravel on top of the hot, bubbly sticky tar. I just got done, put my wheelbarrow and shovel away when a local girl who was abit retarded rode her bike slowly passed looking at the numerous oddities on my house and roof, she turned her front wheel a little bit too sharply, the tread found the loose gravel I had just moved there and down she Went! Minor bike-wreck scrapes no big injury, but I felt So Bad and So Guilty!
I live at the end of a dead end street tucked away behind the store buildings, surrounded by parking lots. If someone doesn't like my house and the displays, they don't have to drive passed here. The only ones that Have to drive passed are the garbage and beer trucks since taverns are my neighbors.
When I began decorating this house 23 years ago I told several people it would be a tourist attraction and people would be finding my house hidden away back here...and they sure have!"My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

It really is nice to know people aren't out there just for your money. It's also nice to know there are caring people such as yourself to attend the matter weather your apart of it or not.
Your haunt sounds awesome.halloween is a super cool holiday.

Glad he's gonna be OK..Boys take a lot of tumbles, mine certainly did. My wife and I usually just chalked it up to life's experiences and we never looked to enter litigation just because the opportunity arose. Sometimes accidents just happen....its "really" no ones fault...but there are ambulance chasers that would see it differently...We cant bubble wrap the world, we gotta live life.

Yea, it sounds like the family's just happy we were there to help. If he had crashed somewhere else in the neiborhood it would've been a much bigger problem.
And when I talked to the kid on Halloween he sounded fine, said thanks. I'm not really worried about getting sued.
