I would love to do a walk through next year but, I want to get different ideas from all of you experts. My question is... how have you made the actual structure? What has worked best for you and what ended up being a disaster. I'm not setting up a professional haunt.. just a simple walk through. I know that there are other HF members out there that would love to make the jump from yard display to walk through and I'm hoping this thread will be useful.
Thanks in advance!!

I added an outdoor walkthru this year. The vertical 2x4s are 4ft apart. Nothing is screwed to the house, I just screwed the crossbeam to the houseside first then pushed the board up against the house as I screwed in the fence side. I cut off the tops sticking up on the fence side, then draped the whole thing in 20ft wide black plastic. I was able to pull the framework away from the house enough to slide the plastic down. This worked like a champ and didn't go anywhere. We did get rain on Halloween and the scaractor in the blue light area had a broom to push up on the plastic and force the water over the fence. The only stapling I did was on the two ends of the walkway, so I should be able to use the plastic easily next year.

Well I have had about ten years experience with various types of walk-thru set-ups my friend! I myself am located in a windtunnel for a backyard in which the winds get extremely high gusts. There are overturned 18 wheelers on I-15 regularly this time of year. Let's just say it pretty bad...
As for the best set-up in my area, I think the 2x4 framed walk-thru would be best! I have many wall panels and room dividers that were damaged this year due to high wind gusts this year(60-75mph). They are 4x7ft panels are constructed of 2x3" wood boards and 1/4" plywood facing. These were light and perfect for moving around but not heavy enough to withstand extreme winds...
If you do not have theses issues Kim you can build the same types or just use the 2x4 framing with tarps from harbor freight(cheapest). You can contact me anytime buddy if you need my assistance. I however am not a pro but have plenty of experience in framing and maze structures for my past haunt's backyard. If you build it they will come! Lol!
A Halloween prop is a terrible thing to waste..

Thanks everyone! I live in Southern California. We also get those "Santa Ana Winds" in October so, I guess I would have to take that into consideration even though the area that I want to set up in is completely surrounded by block walls. I appreciate all of your input.
