Hope everyone had a great Halloween. Read a lot of weather related issues and I feel your pain. Although we weren't hit by the rain or snow some had, we had 35mph winds that really worked over many of our haunted tour displays and hide behinds. Thankfully the night went off well despite an actor unplugging a bunch of the deep woods lights and fog machines.
Our haunt story line revolved around a haunted early 19th century village (Old Scare Bridge Village). At this village children had gone missing in the woods and the guided tour was designed to see what was happening to them. The fact that our tour actually went into the woods freaked out a lot of people and the 9 different scenes we had set up (coffin store, cemetary scene, angry grandmother, evil baby, torture chamber/balcksmith shop, medicine man, demented bridge keeper and evil zombie girls) worked out well. I also can't forget to add in the 3 zombie kids who would randomly come out of the darkness and ask TOTS "where their mommy was". Many a screams were heard all evening!
Already looking forward to 2011.

I can just imagine how creepy that would be in the woods. Especially the zombie kids asking for their mommy!
Duct tape is a ghoul's best friend.

When some of my older actors had to cut out early to head home, the little ones took over the coffin scene. One would size up the TOTS with a roap (the way they did it in the old days) and warn them about going in the woods at night. Then the next one would jump out of a coffin as soon asthey headed deeper in the woods. They did that on their own. Pretty creepy but fun.

Thanks Cinders and Pandora. I'm very lucky to have neighbors who not only help me but let me use their land so the walking tour is longer. We had over 200 Trick or Treators and less than a 1/4 mile away I'm told a neighbor only had 5. So next year (haunt 4) we'll have to up our game even more so people are not dissapointed.
