Everything went great all night until a group of kids (teens) came thru for the second time and actually started kicking down props, knocking over props, and pulling down props. I heard my daughter (19) yelling at them and by the time they passed my area they were running thru and doing anything and everything listed above. When they passed me I actually chased them out of the haunt and half way down the street, unfortunately I didnt catch any of them. I doubt Ill have a Haunt next year if ever again!

Wow that's terrible. Unfortunately little brats like this brand my whole generation (I'm 18). What you need to do is be like Walt from Gran Torino haha. But yeah put the fear of God into them (as my dad would say) and punish them properly.

Geez, link now working properly. So, besides what was mentioned above, I also realized a few things went missing (AKA stolen) from my haunt. After those kids, NO, after those PUNKS came thru and did what they did and then I found out WHY they did it after talking to all my helpers. They did it because......one of them got really scared and it pissed her off so they decided to come back thru and teach me a lesson. This is what I found out from my friends that were in the front part of the haunt, they over heard them talking about what they were going to break and destroy because Deshonika (or something like that) got the living crap scared out of her. Two of my haunt walls were so badly damaged that I had to toss them out, they ran into them so hard that 2x3s cracked, the scrape on the ground where the walls were placed indicated about a 14" outward move (floors painted) towards the opening of the garage door. After reviewing the entire night my wife and I have decided to quit doing this, if I now need to hire security and buy an insurance policy just to do a haunt for free its not worth the liability or possibility of a lawsuit from someone for getting hurt. I thought about where that wall shot out that distance and realized I was lucking that nobody was in the way when that happened, I know they would have been hurt. This was the 6th year Ive done this and NEVER had a problem, last year I had an easy 200+ ToT count of attendees go thru the haunt. This year was probably double that and things were going good for 2-3 hours before this all happened, I did however notice that most of the new kids seemed more rambunctious that the previous year. I remembered a lot of them from last year and they were cool, its the new faces, the younger ones, that were acting like that. Anyway, as I said, I just dont have the passion to do this anymore, theres to much at risk now, Ive worked to hard to get where I am today to lose it all because of a group of PUNKS. I will be trying to find a charitable organization to donate my entire haunt to and then next year have decided to donate my time at a local haunt that has been doing a charity haunt for over 20 years, I am actually contacting them as well to see if they want it all. So with that I lay down my scythe in defeat to the one that ruined it for all.

    What a drag.

Here's an idea, get together with any neigbors that want to do a haunt, coordinate your efforts into one haunt and have a haunt "guide" for groups of people.

If some people are left alone, they will do stupid things, when someone is there, it is less likely to happen.

I think that's a great idea. I hate to see someone give up their haunt because of one bad apple... You might feel differently about it later on and regret giving your stuff away....

I'm sorry to hear man. I know this crap SUCKS hardcore! But I tell ya what, don't get rid of anything, and wait till next year and see how you feel. A lesson learned is a new goal for next time! Maybe think of some "preventative" measures. If it's a HAUNT... use a guide! Hey, being a Guide is FUN!
