fact ...its based on a german folktale , but there is a Sleepy Hollow in New york perviously called Terrytown that has a history as well . I had done a project one time that included a history of the Headless horseman one year for a display.Found some interseting things on that topic .

True. It was the "California" (I think that was the name). Captain thought the ship was launching off fireworks for the hell of it instead of investigating. Apparently common sense was common back then either!
