    anyway...my wife says this describes me perfectly.

    Mark Addy from the show Still Standing. Short lived sitcom a few years ago, but watch it all the time on Lifetime...

    It's an interesting question all the same. Maybe it is a game of sorts, because now I feel like I have to think of someone....

    Hmmmmmmmm...this is hard!

    Closest I can come up with is Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer--but without the good manners. Always wanted to do the car hood thing, though. :-)
