Host a Halloween MONSTER MARKET with best Halloween makers, crafters and vendors around.
In short, we love Halloween, and we want to reclaim it. It’s time to dig in, and make it great again.

The longer story
Every Autumn we find ourselves seeking the Halloween from our childhood.

Heck, we’re probably looking for the ultimate Halloween that never-quite-was… something that is a mix between the Addams Family, Hammer films, Big Daddy Roth, Count Chocula, the Munsters, and imagery from old-time Halloween… vintage spooky cards with Witches, Draculas, bats, and black cats.

Something spooky, but not entirely blood-drenched; interesting for adults and kids… but not just kiddy.

While Halloween has always been a commercial affair, we’re not quite as excited about costumes based on the latest blockbuster, cookie-cutter decorations or booty-costumes for little girls. Something vital is lost in the translation.

We’d love to help folks to get back to basics, and make their Halloween cooler, keener, and more inspired.

Tomorrow (4/13) me and some friends will be hosting our annual Half-O-Ween party to celebrate six months till Halloween comes around. If you live in or near the Austin area you should definitely come. Party is going to be a more 20s something crowd, plenty of drinks, some snacks will be provided. I'll be DJing spooky music all night and we'll have a projector outside showing a nice video collage/mix of Halloween videos.

Costumes are encouraged, but since it's only Half-O-Ween they don't have to be amazing. Kreepfest, a gathering of haunters and Halloween enthusiasts from all over, will once more surge to life in August. Oft described as the Halloween convention with a family reunion vibe, Kreepfest will celebrate its twelfth year by stepping into a larger venue location to accomidate all the awesome things that 2013 will bring.

From Friday's movie night, through Saturday's chock-a-block schedule of prop-making demos, games, round-table haunt discussions, fellowship, food, and fun, on to Saturday night's undead masquerade prom "The Waltzing Dead", and Sunday's Make-And-Take-A-Palooza where you can indulge your crafty urges to make over six different things to accentuate your own haunt ... You're sure to have a great time at Kreepfest.

My haunts are based in my three car... I am 15 years old and have been haunting for about 4 years by myself and helping my Uncle years before that. My haunts are based in my three car garage and go into the backyard. I usually only open it to my friends and family when i have my halloween party every year. Every year it has gotten bigger, better and scarier as ive gained knowledge and expirience. My huant only consists of manual scares like spring loaded and ropes and pulleys but At my uncles haunt he has a lot of motors and other mechanical scares. I have gotten a lot of compliments on it (Not trying to brag just letting you know this isnt your typical graveyard walkthrough.) I try to make it look as good and as professional as possible with the given budget and supplies (which isnt much!!) This year like always I want it to be bigger and better than ever. I want to rent out or borrow a building or barn to put it in. I dont want to make any money while doing it but I do want to raise money for Riley's Hospital or some charity while doing this. I would rely on mostly sponsored or donated materials and time. All of the money recieved would go straight to the charity. But I have a few questions... Since I am collecting money do I need permits or insurance since I am opening it to the public? How would I go about getting the money should I charge people or just have them donate it? Any help suggestions or feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.
