Funny name and I have it because I work with liquified gasses such as liquid nitrogen, liquid helium etc. as part of my profession.
I have been doing haunted houses, haunted yards and spook alleys since 1976. I've had a lot of fun doing it and my family and neighbors always look forward to what I am going to do next year.
Last year I added a dragon and a flame cannon to the yard. This year I will be adding video projections in my cemetery so I will be looking for suggestions on that topic.
Halloween is my opportunity once a year to scare folks and then see them smile afterward.
I will be looking forward to you comments and suggestions. We learn by sharing.

Started with the Halloween stuff properly last year doing a small thing for the children in the village and going into it a bit bigger this year

My only problems is UK shops don't do Halloween like our cousins across the pond

I have found and used a few good stores but a few like spirit use bongo international that pushes shipping for a few items to $120+ just for shipping


Still picking up parts where I can and the wife has just discovered spooky town so we sourced those From alles.mini in Germany

Anyway enough rambling I'll help where I can but am in awe of some of you lucky american displays

I've been a visitor here for awhile and thought I should go ahead and finally join. I'm a beginner at building props/setting up scenes and although some of you blow me away with your crazy prop building skills that my own will never match, I remain determined to learn.

I love Halloween and have always believed it should be about monsters lurking in the dark, things that go bump in the night, and being scared of the shadows. When my kids were little they were never princesses or cartoon characters; they were always monsters of some sort. (my brother is a very talented artist and he taught me how to do proper monster makeup)

I joined the Halloweenforum today but have been reading along for quite a while now.
So now is the time to introduce myself.

I'm Kirsten and I'm from the Netherlands. That might explain why my English might be pretty f*cked up sometimes.
But I'll try my hardest not to keep you guys wondering what on earth I was going on about too often.

Round here there is not much Halloween, haunting or trick or treating going on.
Last year I did my first Halloweendiner, inviting a few friends and it was sooo much fun the Halloweenbug infected me.
We transformed our house into a funhouse and had spooky foods and drinks. My friends wre great sports, they all showed up in scary costumes.

this year I want to go bigger, have a real Halloweenparty and decorate our house like a week before Halloween.
My neighbours will prabably think I've lost it.
i'm planning to do a Zombie outbreak themed party and Halloween Forum has allready provided me with tons of inspiration.

I'm very chatty, Sorry. :eek: I've recently moved from NW Ohio (where I lived my entire life) to Central FL because my husband got a job here. I LOVE Halloween. I make a lot of my items so when I shop I look at everything in terms of Halloween, all year round! I'd been throwing Halloween parties at my previous home for about 6 years. Everyone would bring a spooky dish to share & we had signature cocktails & I also made lots of spooky dishes, couldn't have anyone go hungry. Last year due to the move, I had a party but no decorations, my friends wanted a last farewell. This year I may not get to do either! :p This will be a major withdrawl for me.

We didn't get ToT's but that didn't stop me from going all out decorating the inside for myself & my friends. I have some pics posted on Pinterest & many others on my FB page.

I look forward to meeting more members & sharing ideas.

I became interested in decorating for Halloween when my daughter asked why we decorated so much for Christmas but couldn't decorate for Halloween "like our neighbors"....they put out a couple of strands of orange lights. I told her that we would decorate for Halloween this year and now, even though I haven't built anything yet, I feel that I am hooked.

I decided it was time to become a contributing member of the community.

Right now I'm working on creating a haunted spa. I bought an old 3 chair hair drying station from a friend and it will be the centerpiece of the haunt this year. I've just started and am trying to get the programming right before spending time on the look of the props.

I'm still looking for a name for the spa, so if you have any suggestions (other than "Curl Up and Die") I'd love to hear them.

Since I'm a newbie, I can't post videos yet but here's a couple of pics.
This patron is Char Lee. Her hair bonnet smokes and she glows red. The effect is created with a fog machine and fading LEDs:

This one is Sparkles, she is sporadically electrocuted by her hair bonnet. Her body arches and jerks as sparks arc around her hair bonnet. This effect is created with an air cylinder and flashing LEDs:

A bit of a goul I am and in love with old hearses. 2 weeks ago I traded (even steven), an old crawler for a 63 Chevy Belair wagon. I'm fixen on makin a rat rod hearse out of it. It now has a 230 six popper, but next year I'm installing my big block chevy in it. Hopefully I will try to run the exhaust into a manifold on both sides of the car. Out of the manifold there will be 4 organ pipes, as in a church pipe organ, along with built in flame throwers attached, under the rear side windows. Should be interesting huh? LOL
But for now...I've painted the white roof with flat black. Now I have to sand down the gloss black (on the rest of the car) to match and clear coat the whole thing. I'm trying to find some kind of coach lanterns for the rear roof, between the back window and side window. There's not much room there so a regular porch light won't work. My next thought would be a lantern on both sides of the front fenders over the headlights, lit up with the blinkers etc. Right now I'm trying to build some turned finials for the roof and maybe some nice carved wood for the side windows to go along with an authentic look, something like a horse drawn one. I've already built a small cemetery scene with the welder for a hood ornament. It has little grave stones along with a fence and entry gate with crosses made out of metal welded together and rusted. I would love to find a small model, of a horse drawn hearse, make a road with the grinder and epoxy it going into the cemetery. Well, that's all for now. When I git-r-done, I will post some pics for y'all. Right now, I'm gonna go surf around on here and see some sights. This is a very interesting forum. Thank You Mr. Crypt Keeper for havin me here.
