I accidently overheard this thing, and found myself humming it all day, which isn't normal for me at all, not with this genre of music.
This may be one of the funniest and most creative songs of horror and the macabre I have ever heard.

Ghostly "pre-echo" effect - how do I get this?

I'm looking to make some of my own ghostly sounds & sayings. There's a popular effect that I really like that is almost a "pre-echo" for lack of a better phrase. It's like you hear the echo before you hear the words. Fairly common when doing ghost sounds (maybe even first used in Poltergeist when the little girl is in the TV).

Anyway, how do I do this? I have Sony's Sound Forge 9 on my machine at work and have fiddled with is some but can't seem to get it right & there doesn't seem to be a plugin that does it automatically.

Thanks for any help or advice you can provide.

MIB sound effects and help

I've found a few sounds I like of beasts/monsters growling and agitated, etc. I wouldn't mind having some low growls and such rolling around but I was wondering if there's anyway to rig up a sound or sounds to play only when the lid is triggered to slap up and down. Now I'm not very technologically apt person, with wiring, sound boards, processors or any of the sort. Something simple like the cheap/simple motion sensor hack thread someone posted on here would be the stretch of my skills so to say.

Basically what this thread/post boils down to is I'm looking for free sound clips and help with making a sound or certain sounds play when the sensor is tripped.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has certain songs that have nothing to do with halloween, but there is something about them that's a bit "off" i guess. To me, a lot of Holly Golighty and The Brokeoffs has this element of creepiness to it and i love it. So i'm looking for other stuff like it. Any genre of music would be great. I know i prolly confused you but i don't know how else to explain it.

I've transcribed it as best I can. I still need to verify a few things. If anyone thinks it's wrong or hears other stuff, please let me know.

I'm still struggling with the music at 16:58 � 17:21; it sounds like a "reveal" scene from an old movie. I'm also not sure about the music at 18:19 � 18:55. I think it's from the Haunted Mansion, but it doesn't seem to match the version I have.

What I love about this collection is that it's a fairly good horror-film primer (up to 2001). If one could view all the films mentioned, he/she would have a pretty good horror film foundation. I 'm thinking about taking this audio and matching it up with the video for Halloween.

I am looking for underwater sounds/background noises (and/or sound clips from Bioshock) to use for the background and sound effects for my spooky underwater room.
I am trying to find some (free) clips of noises to use as sound effects-- underwater sounds plus echo-y or muted sounds such as footsteps, clanks, scraping, things being dropped in the distance, slow drips, water sloshing sounds, bubbling, etc...

Examples, these are the sort of Bioshock sound effects I am looking for (or effects/noises that sound similar to the noises here):

Making a 'soundscape' using an mp3 player?

I have never done this before so I am hoping someone who has can help me?
I want to make a "soundscape" for several rooms, that will consist of a background sound that loops continually, plus some sound effects interspersed every few minutes. All I have to work with is mp3 players and cheap speakers. I have a few mp3 players but I was hoping to be able to get by with just using one player per room.
The problem is I'm not sure how to do this since I want to have the background sound playing continuously and the intermittent sound effects to come in on top of that, but the player can only play one file at a time... Do I need to find an audio editor and add in the sound effects to the mp3 file of the background noise, or is there another way to do this?

I used to work at Halloween Haunt at Kings Island. In our section of the trail, they used to play a song/sound effects of a girl saying things like "the trees, they come alive!" and then a guy making sort of a moaning sound. you can hear parts of it in this video at about 6:05 on
