Hi All,
Hope all are well today!

I found a great place on the web that has 6 pages of just HALLOWEEN fonts and dingbat fonts. Best of all .. they are FREE.

It even has a little contraption that you put your words in and for about half of them you can see how your words will look in the fonts. You can download each one that you like, and then extract them to your WINDOWS/Font folder. Do a refresh in the folder and they should work.

Two of my favorites are "Halloween Spider" and "Wild Wood.
Let me know yours!

Have fun!

looking for feedback

This is a color study for a piece of art I'm making for a glass fusing class and I'm looking for a little feedback from people who appreciate the subject matter. I'm already planning to use a lot more yellow at the top of the sky and to make the sky very red at the horizon. I know I'm going to lose some detail for three reasons: the finished piece will be smaller than the study, I'll be translating the design from one medium to another, and I need to cut stencils for the new medium. I know I'll lose details like the strands of barbed wire--they are just too delicate to remain distinct. I may have to lose the crows, too. They may end up having too fine an outline. The technique is stenciling a sheet of white glass with colored glass powders and firing the glass to melt/fuse the powder to the sheet. The end result is a little like airbrushing and a little like watercolor but not as precise as either of those. anyway, I'm looking for feedback on the composition, color, and overall look. I want to have refined this some before i hit the studio on Monday. I'll photograph and post the final piece after it cools enough I can pull it from the kiln.

Well, this year was my debut in creating my haunted garage (I hope to have a less generic name for it next year). I shot this video on Halloween night with a major hangover..I probably should have used a flash light to accent some things and show some thing that didn't show up in the video but oh well. This is a trial run and will get infinitely better as each year passes. Also my live characters weren't around, they too were very hungover haha.

My husband and I were discussing when was the last time we saw anyone use those bags you fill with leaves. I had ran across a box of mine from 1984 and remembered most people had them in their yards back then. I also have a huge black cat head, giant spider that worked great up on the roof, and my favorite was a witch and cauldron. Does anyone still use these?

"Purple" LED Lights at Target

These lights aren't called purple led lights, but they sure look purple to me. They are a little lighter purple (not like a dark purple - Ace had darker purple this year, and I hated them!), but these are awesome. Where did I get them? They are from Target, and they are called Pink spherical lights. I'm going to use them for Halloween next year!!

This week (November 15 - 21), they are on sale for $9.50 instead of $12, and you get 60 of them. If you are interested, I would at least look at the display in the Christmas section at Target (At the Targets I've been to, they all have them on display.), and than see if you think that's a good purple color for you. I just can't find LED purple in stores.

On the flipside, I looked at Big Lots Pink, and they do look more pink than purple. First, I found Target Pink which looks like purple, and than I went to look at Big Lots because it's cheaper there, but I don't like that color pink at Big Lots because it doesn't look purple.

Here is a slideshow of our yard and garage haunts this year. A friend of ours put this together for us. Thanks Krystal!

We have both noticed that, after seeing some of the amazing talent on here, we want to step up our cemetery next year. Some new tombstones, some ground breakers (coffins and corpses), a pumpkinrot, and a couple of new pnuematics.

The pictures in the garage DO NOT do it justice. The flash completely ruins the effect. We used 4 watt night lights, and that was perfect. Bright enough to see, but still dark and spooky! I have another friend working on editing a video, but this will give you an idea of what we did. Enjoy!

I know I have seen other scary Xmas ideas posted here but could not find them under search.
I want to leave most of my Halloween stuff up but add Xmas items like placing the spiders on the xmas tree, ornaments in the werewolf mouth, santa hats on monsters, etc. Perhaps I could wrap my changing photos with Xmas paper and cut out a small front area; and put red bows on the giant spider webs. Maybe some monsters could hold garland (instead of chains and barbed wire)I know about teeth on the wreath, pointed candy cane w/ blood, red bows on monsters, and I guess Santa can ride my monster bat but I need other ideas that do not require a lot of prop making. I have a TON of Halloween stuff and Xmas decor. Ill go watch Tim Burton's show again for more ideas but anyone have some additional ideas?
Thx.
