  1. Just One Thing...

    Heard stories in the past about folks that have lost all their props and decorations to flooding or natural disaster, and it made me wonder, what one thing would I try to salvage/keep if that happened.

    I've got several childhood decorations still that would break my heart to lose, but then I think I would also be crushed if I lost my Spooky Town items. And I've got a ghost and a ToT teddy bear blow-mold lights that would kill me if they were destroyed, along with my musical 'snow'-globes, ...

  2. Movie Review: "Maxed Out: Hard Times, Easy Credit & the Era of Predatory Lenders"

    Here's a verrrry scary movie if you can find it. If you have a credit card, you'll want to cut it up. And if you can't cut that card up, you'll want to cut your throat.

    The monster: predatory lenders. The victims: us and our loved ones. That's what makes it so scary: the fact it's really happening, everyday, in your neighborhood. Though it's not a 'horror movie' per se, it's a nouveau horror set-up up along the lines of "The Blair Witch Project."

    Heaven from Hell.

    Just had a couple of Jehova's Witness walk by, scowl at the yard, and keep going. Woot! Makes me wanna keep the Halloween decorations up all year!

    Mmmmm, smell all that sugar! Love it when you walk in a store and all the candy is right there in front and the delicious sweet smell bounces up your nose. Makes me want to buy it, smother my face in pounds of it, and snarf it all up!

  5. Scary Days Are Here Again

    With rising glee and creeping dread I greet the sight of Halloween merchandise in our big box stores. It's wonderful, don't get me wrong, but it's all so fleeting.

    In years past the anticipation would get the better of me, and I would stalk through the stores right after July 4th, hoping for a glimpse, any glimmer, of something Halloween related.

    Then, once the merchandise was out, I could spend hours, days, pouring over items, comparing styles and designs, figuring ...
