Every year when I have my annual party there is one question that is a constant from my guests. Where do you get your ideas for decorating? Well if you have seen any of my albums you know I really love to embrace the vintage side of Halloween. However I also love to embrace funky and glitzy side of Halloween.

As I have mentioned earlier I have two boys, my youngest has always loved Halloween as much as I do. It was he who made it very clear to me early on that I could do whatever I wanted to the inside of the house, but he has a reputation to hold up and the outside had to have his final approval. Meaning no Hula Ghouls with lipstick would be found outside. LOL! So we have come to an agreement, Outside creepy and spooky and ofcourse cool and mommy has all access pass to glitter away indoors.

My decorating style is a mix of vintage and whimsical to glittery and funky. Imagine if you will if Martha Stewart and Elton John had to throw a Halloween party together. THATS MY STYLE! I love artist like Greg Guedel and Bethany Lowe, because all of their peices seem to embrace the whimsical and vintage side of Halloween. Ive always loved that and have always incorporated that theme in my decorating.

One year however I purchased some fabulous Halloween Hats from glitterville and it was then that I decided my decor was missing something. GLITTER and color. So I decided to start looking for objects that embraced that feel, hence the glittered lipstick wearing Hula Skeleton! It was then that I also discovered the magic a Boa can do to a prop. Yes I said it BOA. I try and put Boa's on most of my props and if I can get a way with it a crown too! I like the unexpected. Forinstance Dead Donna adds an entirely different effect to the theme of your house when she is wearing a black and red boa with gold highlights. I want the feel inside to be fun and funky but with touches of that old world vintage Bruce Elsass feel. I know its an odd combo but for me it works. You can always check out my albums if you want to see what i am talking about. Hope you stop by and enjoy!

It makes for great conversation during our party and the guests really seem to enjoy looking at what I came up with this time
