Spookilicious mama

Ok well I decided I would try this blog thingy. So I am 42 now and have two teenagers at home and was thinking back on how quickly they have grown the other night. It got me to thinking that while my older one is getting ready to start the next chapter in his life...in a way so am I. I have spent that last 17 years being mom which I love I stayed at home when they were smaller and did all the typical stay at home mom stuff. Gymboree, mommy and me, playdates, finger painting classes, park visits, picnics, you name it we did it. As they got older I took a part time job working I would take them to school, go to work and pick them up. They actually never new I worked. Now I work part time in the guidance department of an elementary and middle school. In between work I am shuttling boys back and forth to swim meets or music competitions never missing one. In some cases I had to drive 5 hours to see my son play with his jazz band for 20 minutes only to jump back in the car and drive 5 hours back the same day Ive been the car pool mom the home work helper, worlds best baker,(not my words... theirs) shoulder to hang on and voice at 12 am when things are troubling them and I have enjoyed every single minute of it. To be the kind of mom I wanted to be however I had to put a few of my interests on hold. Now that they are getting older I am beginning to think about some of the things I may want to start to pick up again.
