I was volunteering for our rec centers haunted house, luckily I got there early enough to sign up and got to pick what i got to do. I chose Leatherface since i already had the costume from last year. The only thing that sucked was I couldn't use my gas saw, it had to be electric.
The first night they had me at the end, jumping out from behind double doors, chainsaw roaring, yelling at the kids to run!! Well after about an hour, some of the kids were coming through twice, and they were all saying it was time for the chainsaw guy again.
Well, the next night they had me in the first locker room banging on lockers and jumping out and scarring then. really threw some of them off that came through the night before!!
Anyway my wife and kids came through last, we weren't allowed to grab anyone, but I did my niece and nephew and kids and wife.
When I went out to the lobby in my costume there was a group of about 10 kids waiting to see some of the actors, since I had my own gear, i of coarse wore it all out to the lobby. The kids all gathered round my wanting high 5s and pictures.
I wish my wife wouldn't have left right away, she had the camera. One of the park board members told me that I did a really great job and they want me next year!!
Ya know, it kinda made me forget about my ankle and it made me feel really good, not to mention it was all for our citys youth sports and that really makes me feel good to donate time like that.
