Coming Soon... the NEW 2012 HAUNTED CANADA CALENDAR!!!

Once again I'll be doing a new Haunted Canada Calendar for 2012 featuring the very best of All-Canadian Haunts! Lat year we had haunts from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec. This year I'd like to see all of Canada represented so start spreading the word! Let's make this edition of the Haunted Canada Calendar the BEST YET!

So with that said it's time to look over all your photos and send in your best shots for the 2012 HAUNTED CANADA CALENDAR! It doesn't matter whether you think your haunt measures up or not - we want to see them all. Yard Haunt, Garage/Back Yard Walkthrough, Amateur & Professional Haunt, even indoor display, large or small it doesn't matter. The only criteria is that you are based within Canada. The final cut-off date for photo submissions will be SUNDAY, JULY 17th so don't delay!

As in past years the calendar will be 8.5" x 11" when folded opening to 11" x 17", full colour, printed on good quality glossy paper and cover. There will be a large area for photos at the top part of each month with plenty of space to write each day's appointments. There is even a Halloween countdown on each day so we know exactly how many days it is until our favourite holiday rolls around again.

You can send in photos from ANY year - it doesn't have to be from last year if you don't want. Whatever photos you send will be great! Full photo submission details below.

    Advertising Opportunities:

For those with a Halloween related business/professional Haunt who wish to advertise there will be 12 banner ad spaces available (one per month) as well as four 1/2 page ad spots on the inside centre spread. The banner size is 1.375" H x 5.5" W at a cost of $60 and the 1/2 page ads will be 8.5" H x 5.5" W at a cost of $160. Ads will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis and do fill up fast so don't delay. Please contact me if you would be interested in this option. You could supply your own ad artwork to my specs or I could design something for you for a small fee.

    Photo Submission Guidelines:

    - Basically the largest shot your camera can do is best. Files should be, at minimum, over 1 MB filesize. If you aren't sure, send me the photo and I can tell you if it is acceptable or not. Images that have been saved for the web (ie. Facebook) are generally too small to use. The larger or better quality photo you send the larger or more prominent I will use it (when possible).

    - Send a maximum of 1-4 photos. I will choose the best depending on the calendar layout. The photos can be sent to me at halloween@hectorturner.com Photos can be from any past year not just 2011 - send me your best overall shots!

    - Include with each photo your name, haunt name (if any) & location (including Province). For example mine would read:

    Hector Turner
A Haunted Halloween at Blackstone Cemetery, Brampton, ON

    - Make sure to also include "HAUNTED CANADA" in your subject line when you submit your photos so I can try and keep the spam filters from catching it. I will send out a confirmation once I have received your submission so if you don't hear anything back from me within a week, please try to contact me.

    - I reserve the right to have final say as to which photos will and will not be included, however I will endeavour to include at least 1 photo from each person that submits their shots.

That's it for now, let's get those photos rolling in so I can get started. The final cut-off date for photo submissions will be SUNDAY, JULY 17th so that I can complete the calendar and get it to the printer in time for the Halloween season. That way we'll have it well in advance of the New Year. This promises to be a great showcase for the Canadian haunting community and a great way to keep the Halloween spirit all year long!

Looking forward to seeing your photos.

I love the 2011 calender and appreciate that you included one of my photo's. It's a shame that 2011 photos won't have a chance to appear in your calender until 2013. Do you have enough unused photo's from years past to do the calender without repeating images?
When storage is a concearn, put your monster props under the kids beds.

Thanks Doto! The main reason is to get the calendar out earlier. In the past I've waited until after Halloween to accept photos but then by the time I get them all in, do the work to put the calendar together and get it printed we're into the first week of January. By that time most people already have their calendar for the new year. This way I can get all the photos in before the end of July and have the calendar finished and off to the printer for October.

So, I would like it for people to send in new shots as most of the images I received I've already used. This way too people are free to submit photos from not just the past year but from any time in the past. Had a great set-up in 2005 with the fog hanging just right? Cool, send it in!

Going forward, it's true we'll always be a year behind but the advantage is that the calendars will get out in time for people to enjoy them. Maybe you could even give them to friends and family as Xmas gifts or as thank-yous to your scare actors?

Looking forward to seeing your pics. Thanks again!
