Since many of our halloween props and lighting decor make use of extension cords, I saw this video I thought worth sharing that illustrates how to manage your extension cords for ease of use and to keep them in good condition. I've always been frustrated with mine especially when you're using a 50- or 100-foot cord. Hated the tangles and the difficulty in trying to make sense of the bunch of intertwining cord. Problem solved!

I'm no expert in electrical, far from it, but I don't think you want to cover extension cords you'll be using for a power source. Thinking it could cause them to heat up and lead to issues. I know when we were having an electrician run some electrical lines to our BBQ island for lighting and outlets, he said to follow code the wire gage was important given the length of the run and he couldn't add more lines into the conduit that would be carrying them underground due to overheating concerns....

Only 5 of these left. When these are gone I probably won't do a second run unless I get a few pre-orders. Thanks to all that got them!

Come on and join the fun! One item is a great challenge but if that is not for you--- Do a kit of some kind--- Or multiple items that clearly make up a unit Oh the possibilities... Spring is upon us and with it comes Walpurgis or Walpurgisnacht--- Halfway to Halloween---

Scorpion64 not sure when Lilibat will be back posting but in the meantime here's a photo JLWII2000 posted of himself next to the horse. The horse is 74 inches tall, about the same height as the HF member. http://www.halloweenforum.com/general-halloween/147641-2016-home-depot-halloween-thread-53.html#post1866133 I didn't take any photos of anyone standing next to my horse but did take this one of a Costco Crazy Bonez posable skeleton with mask and clothing sitting on our horse.

Team, I get the sense the VFX design is continuing to evolve (nothing wrong with that). Here's a video from last weekend's TransWorld in St. Louis, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lHjPadfHRM The VFX footage starts at 4:48. They seem to have simplified the cabling system,

Lilibat, is there a possibility of you taking a picture of yourself standing next to it to get a sense of scale? You can blur out your face if you are not comfortable with that, just want to see how it looks next to a person, if it's not possible, no biggie, thanks

Well, I'm not sure whether this will help with your question or just give you that much more to think about. This past year we did a crypt mausoleum for our entrance to the haunt made out of the free, yes free, foam blocks you can scrounge from most Tractor Supply stores. they use them for shipping trailers. With 240+ blocks and a lot of great stuff, we made a crypt 13' x 8' x 8' . The blocks are about 18" x 12" x 12". Start collecting them and you could make some really cool stone walls! ...

Started getting the shop together. The room kind of got used as the stash all for extra paints/grout/etc from the house construction and I'm still cleaning that up. There's also a lot of boxes from the storage shed that got put here until we unpack them and get them in their permanent location still. My mask blanks, 'near lifecast' (I do a cheaper cast that get's the basic form pretty good, but not as detailed as a true lifecast) heads of each of us. I need to make new blanks...

I'm slow on execution, but my ideas are down pat. I should have mine together and ready to go early next week. Fingers crossed! And as an answer to my earlier un-related question about a leprechaun outfit for a 3 foot skeleton?? A 0-3 month baby onesie fits perfectly!!! Imma have the best dressed skeleton around now that I learned that!

Oooo, good picks! I've seen the Strangers and The Shrine (both awesome movies), but I'll put Bloody Knuckles on my list. I read the synopsis they gave and it sounds exactly like you said: ridiculous but fun :)

I'm still seeing "out of stock online" and "not sold in stores" on the HD website. I've been stalking it! I did see them listed online for a wee bit less from from some Christmas website, but it had $5 shipping and you had to pay COD. Just felt sketchy to me!

Just finished Husk and am rewatching Sleepaway Camp now. Husk was alright, the scarecrow designs looked pretty cool, but the movie was a bit "meh" for me. Sleepaway Camp, on the other hand, is a campy, laughable, and really fun movie to watch. Gets better every time :D

Here in Canada they all left the franchise and changed their name due to an inflated "fee" to use the Radio Shack name. They became "The Source" but sadly their numbers are dwindling. There's only one left in my area now. I rely on them for parts and components involved in recording and processing my music, and the odd electronic gadget for the home. I hope we don't lose the only one we've got left.

Has anybody had any luck using one of these? It is a 4 - 120-volt output with audio and DMX programmable with "Director" from frightideas. I'm not sure how old it is but would be great to be able to program it. Frightideas doesn't want to have anything to do with it because it was for Spirit and I can't find anything on the internet. There has to be someone out there that bought and used one of these. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance. Brad

Wasn't sure if this should go here in General or maybe in Props but just saw an article that lists 75 California Radio Shacks that are closing and wanted to bring it to the attention of fellow California DIYers. Been to a couple of them for parts and kits for halloween projects and will say I will miss the convenience of running into a store to pick up a project box or such. Bay Area looks pretty hard hit by the closures. We have a few Fry's Electronics in the Bay area but not as many and not...
