I know what you mean I lot my mother on August 16 2003. That year was a toss up tpo decorate or not choose to decorate since mom always helped me and loved the kids excitement etc
The neighbors were surprised we did deocorate. We planted a tree in her memory when she died . I decorate that tree with ghost deocrations, because we have a fond memory of deocrating and a wayward ghost got away, We were hanging ghost in a tree and was holding a treelimb down the tree limb got away and the ghost went flying over the top of the tree and she laughed til she cried I loved that. and every year think of that memory when decorating
sadly lightening hit that tree this year and had to cut it down
