I think most people are able to cope with a party if its not an every night thing
We don't live in an apt but we live in a cramped little deadend street.
We have one party per year....halloween
And its a biggie....sometimes till 3 or 4 in the morning and music the whole time. The party is also held partly outside under a tent.
No one has ever complained. We do invite the neighbors but they don't attend.
Of course I don't complain either when the student on our street has a party, or when the other neighbor comes home drunk at 3 am or when the guy next to us has a whopper of a fight with his wife at 2 am.
