I grew up on a farm and you are a little late to be planting.

The corn is supposed to be "Knee high by the 4th of July" as the old saying goes.

If you decide to plant, plant field corn instead of sweet corn as that will grow taller - but you can't eat it (I mean you can, it just doesn't taste very good)
