Yeap Beth is right the male flowers come first 1-2 weeks before the females and when you think you will never get a female flower BAM! Like Beth said at the base of the flower it looks like a baby pumpkin you cant miss it....But remember if you self pollinate like us you are going to need to be there when they open bright and early when the sun rises b/c when they close and if no bees pollinated it once it closes its gone for good. Id say get there right before sun rises you only have a few hours to self pollinate. Heres what i do i pick the male flower and peel off the pedals very carefully leaving just the stamen then rub it carefully all over the multi segment stigma of the female flower. (I hope i got my flower part names right lol)
