Morti Update - Help Me Choose
I am at a decision point on my very first Halloween prop, Morti and your opinions would really be appreciated. A little about Morti... he started out as a real pumpkin left over from Fall 2007. He has been immortalized by using paper mache' and celluclay to form the head of a free-standing sculpture that will include a corpsed rib cage and vine-like tree trunk. The inside of the head is painted fluorescent orange and will be illuminated with a red light for an erie bright glowing affect. There is still a little bit of clay work to finish, mainly on the stem. Many thanks for the inspiration and encouragement for this project which I credit to my dear friend Spookzilla and the fabulous work of Lauriebeast.
I am pondering two options for the next step. Please help me choose!
Option 1: Do some finish sanding to leave a smooth surface and apply paint with an air brush for a shaded effect.
Option 2: Apply a layer of texture using a snot-rag mache' or similar tecnique to give him an overall corpsed effect before I paint with an airbrush.
Here are a few updated pictures of Morti. You will find more in my photo album.
