Mormons are the least of your worries. My ENTIRE family is packed full of Jehovah's witnesses, and I can tell you that Mormons have NOTHING on these guys. I grew up in the Kingdom Hall's around here, and if the elders got wind that a member was celebrating ANY holiday, you were disfellowshipped. In most religions, disfellowshiped means the pastor asks if you would like to be counseled on your problem and the rest of the flock provides moral support until your back on track (this is the case even with Mormons), but in the Kingdom Hall, you are outcast. No other member is allowed to associate with you or else they are also disfellowshipped. Most Mormons have a "to-each-his-own" attitude toward Halloween. There are a few in my neighborhood who celebrate "mildly". They bring their kids TOTing, but only with mild, cutesy costumes and they're back inside before dark. I'm sure, like any other religion, there are a few extremists, BUT NOT LIKE THE WITNESSES. My Mother is one of those Saturday morning doorbell ringers, and as extreme as they come. She will not come near my house if there is any holiday decorations around. Even a flag for the Fourth of July because they are completely anti-military. Luckily, we came to an understanding long ago: she wouldn't try to covert me, and I wouldn't call her religion a "cult" anymore. (yes, it use to get pretty nasty) My point is; Mormons are OK, be thankful they're not Witnesses. I don't mean to sound cruel, but I've earned the right to be bitter, trust me.
