I've been trying more for that old, crowded, haunted feel in mine. I have pics at the link below. I also prefer a more realistic look without too many zombie props. I haven't spent more than $35 on any one stone, but some of those look worth much more than the ones I have. I'd love to get some that were as realistic as yours though.
So, I'm curious... what colors do you use for lighting? I used to use green for an erie look, but based on suggestions from folks here, I'm now using blue for that moonlit feel. It looked much more realistic last year over the previous.

Glad to hear you guys/ladies are so into graveyards!!
I too am now going to do some 'crowding' in my graveyard, as I now have alot more stones than what is seen in my pictures. I have enough where I can do some 'family plots', i.e. crowd little sections with stones.
Not to brag, but, yes, my stones are woth much more than $35. Hauntedheadstones.com made me one that cost almost $600.00. I think it's worth it, as the stone is close to six feet tall, and weights about 100 pounds. I wanted larger, but the guy said it would be too heavy for him to handle.
Here's the good part about cheaper (beaded foam) stones: I used 3 or 4 of them this past year, and placed them carefully. I cut one up so it only sticks out of the ground 5 or six inches, and its cut on an angle, so it looks like it has sunken into the ground. I hate to admit it, but it looked like one of my most realistic stones this past year!! ( i had covered it lightly with plaster, and then repainted it to look better)
As far as lighting goes, I have only used blue and red lights. The blue I use to shine on the stones, and then red and blue are used to shine up against tree trunks, or into the leaves themselves, which looks creepy too. I don't use too much lighting in the graveyard because I also use 8 100W flood lights that are hooked up to a lightening machine (I think it's a terror syndicate model). What looks so cool is that when it's not lightening, you can't see all the stones. When the lightening goes off, the whole front yard lights up, and thats when people realize how big the graveyard is! That's usually one of my biggest compliments.
Sorry to go on about all this...but as you can see, I love my graveyard!
